Jennifer Damiani
With a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a JD from City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law at Queens College, Jennifer is perfectly suited as our fearless leader. She brings a wide range of experience and skills to the job, and loves the challenges and variety that comes with running Scout Consultants. While raised in the Midwest (Kansas City, Dallas, and tiny Marshalltown, Iowa), Jennifer claimed Oregon as her home in 1995, when a college friend enticed her out here! Before law school, Jennifer worked in social services, teaching life skills to mentally disabled adults, and working with Alzheimer’s patients in a nursing home. When not working, Jennifer loves to read books, in paper form, thank you! She loves to read all sorts of books and is a quiet science fiction admirer, with special words of affection for Douglas Adams. Jennifer spends several hours a week at the park with her dogs, Stella and Olive, rain or shine. Her other loves are Netflix, visiting her local farmers’ markets and wineries, and patronizing her favorite Forest Grove restaurants.
Patricia Murray
Patricia is a jack of all trades, crafty and resourceful in and out of the office. Patricia is truly the glue that holds our office together. Her unflappable demeanor, calm presence, and ability to master, organize, and coordinate anything, brings her much adoration from the other schleps in the office. Patricia enjoys the diverse skills her job requires, and ensures that everyone in the office is supplied with sufficient doses of chocolate. After growing up in Tennessee and Texas, she lived in Massachusetts, Hawaii, Sweden, and Mexico before moving to Oregon after earning her undergraduate degree in political science in 2009. Newly married, Patricia and her husband, Kevin, have a little rescue dog, Otter, who is their honorary first-born! Otter, a Corgi/Dachshund mix, comes with some emotional baggage from her time as a stray. Luckily, she has found the center of her now-happy universe in Patricia and Kevin’s home. In her free time, Patricia loves to crochet, make jewelry, sew, paint, test new recipes, try new restaurants, travel to see family and friends, and renovate her new house.
Stella Pie Damiani
With a patch on her eye and her unique “cow markings,” the ever-dignified Stella gets noticed wherever she goes! Affectionately referred to by strangers as “The Cow Dog,” Stella serves as the “bossypants” of our office. She is quite vocal when a door needs to be opened, the water bowl needs replenishing, and when she is low on love. Her primary duty is to observe Olive and correct her every puppy-ish offense! Stella has a special bond with bones and deposits them in hiding places, to be retrieved at a time in the future when they will bring the greatest misery to a boneless Olive. Despite her strict side, Stella is as sweet and soulful as the day is long and secretly basks in Olive’s unabashed adoration of her. When not working, she loves, loves, loves to chase squirrels, menace UPS trucks, “mark” territory outside, roll in long grass, and “play defense” (which includes some trash-talk barking and mild heel nips) during Olive’s fetch sessions.
Olive Oyl Damiani
Olive is short for Olive Oyl Honey Butter, the true name of this once rail-thin, yellow lab. Olive survived her first year or so homeless in the country-side, one step ahead of the coyotes and black bears. She seemed to claim Stella and Jennifer as her family from day 1 and has worked hard to learn the kind of manners folks and strict canine siblings expect in a home. Olive is our head of security at the office, announcing every office passerby loudly. As you can imagine, this can be problematic. However, with the help of her “be good collar,” Olive is making better choices of late. Despite her sister’s (Stella) best efforts at keeping things tranquil, Olive promotes chaos and a lively atmosphere. Olive’s passion is fetching. Fetching balls. Fetching sticks. Fetching toys. Fetching ANYTHING. To feed this passion, she has cultivated a following of humans willing to throw things on command.
